What da heck is "rodelling"??

"Rodelling" ?
We had heard about this from our Austrian friend and colleague (and ski trip maestro) Mick Mayr but his version involved an apres ski activity consisting of the consumption of many schnappses prior to hurtling down a  frozen luge - like track perched atop a sled with limited steering ability and no brakes.... we thought this was too good to miss and, after all, when in Rome, one must go rodelling.  And  it turned out we were close to some fine rodelling facilities up on yesterday's Alpe Di Siusi at Seiseralm.

... and that is really all you need to know about rodelling.

Except to add that there was no waiver to sign.

And that Sam was VERY good at it - "no feet no fear" was the mantra of the day which meant no braking; just fly down the track and trust the so called steering mechanism of pushing on the runners.
And that they allowed sleds on the chairlifts!!

And the rest of the day turned into a photo shoot.....
