Alpe Di Siusi

A 2000m gondola ride this morning took us to the top of the cliff framed in our apartment windows, providing access to a vast alpine bowl full of winter fun. We followed the "Alpe Di Siusi  Circuit" almost all the way around, stopping short of the last chairlift to avoid the  2 hour bus ride back to the start. The surrounding  peaks and blue sky views were quite a distraction from the ubiquitous freshly groomed corduroy.

And the mid - morning Refugio stop served up rösti with eggs and speck accompanied by hot chocolate (really this was a cup of melted chocolate deliciousness the likes of which we have never seen before) with a shot of espresso......yum!

Half way around we learned a new word and spent the rest of the day using  the verb "to puflatsch" which the kids thought went well with all the Ausfarting that was going on - they may be grown up but they're still very silly.

I tried out my new Ski Tracks App, courtesy of Mark  Professor of European Travel Lautens and can now torment my wife and all of you with our ski stats every day for the foreseeable future. But it did offer up a cool map of our excursion through the terrain

Tomorrow we plan to take a break from skiing to try "rodelling"...
